Second Dates & Beyond…

We talk a lot about first dates here at JustSingles and for a good reason.  We all need a little help and advice when it comes to meeting someone for the first time, especially if it’s someone you’ve met online, but what happens after the first date?  We tend to use up a lot of our A-Material early on in a relationship so the fear is that we will run out of conversation topics by the time you reach the second date.

Today we’re talking about our top topics of conversation for a second date and beyond…

Talk About The Surroundings…

Get outdoors and immerse yourself in nature. Whether it’s a picnic in a local park or a brisk hike, you’ll never be short of conversation topics. If you’re not an outdoorsy person, go somewhere rich in history and talk about the architecture. If all else fails, do some people watching and talk about that.

Talk About What They’ve Been Up To…

This takes a bit more setting up. On your first date make sure you ask about their plans for the coming days and weeks. Asking if they enjoyed their night out with friends or day trip to the beach, for example, is a great talking point.  It also shows that you’d listened to them on your last date which is a very attractive trait!

Talk About Your Last Date…

Did anything funny happen on your last date? If so, talk about that. If you went to see a show or to the cinema, talk about the show or movie.  Maybe you went for dinner and the food was particularly good (or bad!).  Whatever you did on your first date, there is bound to be something worth talking about again.

Talk About Your Next Date…

If you’ve made it to date number 2, there’s a good chance you’re both going to want a date number 3, 4 & 5. It can feel a bit scary asking about a second date on the first one but by this point, you can be a bit more confident that you will want to see each other again. Talk about a restaurant you’d love to take them too or any other activity you’d like to do together.

Remember to have a few conversation topics “in reserve” to make sure there are no awkward silences.  Be confident and remember, you’ve made it to the second date so you’re doing something right!

Until Next Time,
