Top 5 Date Ideas in Glasgow

Glasgow

As one of the largest cities in the UK, of course you’re going to need a little help narrowing down the great date spots! We’ve selected the finest places to impress your date, whether you’re looking for a day date with a difference or a night date showing some style. We like to think we’ve found places that hit all the right spots in this beautiful city…

1. Soba Bar & Kitchen

soba

Specialising in exquisite Asian fusion dishes, this is the place to go when you feel like adding a little flavour to your evening. With the lighting down low and great contrasting bright artwork on the walls, they’ve really created a sensual atmosphere here, setting the perfect mood for you to enjoy a dinner date, or to simply get to know one another by a selection of cocktails. Find out more here.

Soba Bar is full of flavour and atmosphere to fuel your special evening, booking recommended.

2. Glasgow Film Theatre

This independent cinema oozes charm and charisma. Now we wouldn’t usually suggest a trip to the cinema on a first date, but for this place we’ll make an exception. As soon as you set your eyes on the structure of this building you will be transported back to the 1940’s (think Great Gatsby)! A grand entrance with beautiful viewing screens, tiered seating, and a recently added modern decor thirdscreen! Also, to help settle those date nerves this cinema has its own screen balcony bar with a selection of wines, beer and spirits to enjoy whilst watching a film. We recommend going to a late night showing of a classic film for those special romantic occasions. Make sure you arrive on-time; the films start on-time with no trailers (another bonus!). Find out more here.

3. Kelvingrove Art Gallery & Museum

With plenty of historical features, beautiful Mackintosh designs and natural history, there will always be something that will strum up a conversation between the two of you. Whether or not you enjoy what you see, you will get to know one another by casual conversations whilst wandering around the stunning building. An added bonus is that the entry is free too! Who said dates need to be expensive?! Find out more.
