Make the 15 minute drive from Swansea to the glorious Gower Peninsula. With over 50 bays and beaches, this is the perfect place for a date with a romantic sea view. We recommend Oxwich Bay, which has been named as one of the most beautiful beaches in Britain. Take a walk or even a dip in the sea if you’re feeling brave enough to face the cold waters! Then head to The Oxwich Bay Restaurant for some lunch or afternoon tea by the sea.

If the great outdoors isn’t your thing, Swansea Market would make a great indoor alternative. The largest indoor market in Wales, Swansea Market has over 100 stalls ranging from local food to jewellery, and even hair extensions! Make sure to share some Welsh cakes with your date for a traditional treat.

Evening

For a piece of foodie heaven, Slice is without a doubt the top restaurant in Swansea. Other than the fantastic food, the restaurant’s main attraction is a large window overlooking the kitchen, allowing you to watch the two chefs as they work. With the co-owner currently appearing on the BBC’S Great British Menu, this is sure to be a meal you and your date won’t forget!

If you’re not too stuffed to move after eating dinner, the No Sign Wine Bar is the place to be for after-dinner drinks. Although it might look narrow from the outside, it’s deceivingly large, with four distinctly themed bars inside. Ranked as one of the top destination bars to visit in the UK, this charming bar and live music venue will have you and your date chatting, drinking and dancing into the wee hours.

Something Different…

Step into the rainforest with Swansea’s answer to the zoo, Plantasia. This tropical oasis is encased in a glass pyramid in the heart of Swansea. Stroll around and get up close and personal not just with your date, but with Plantasia’s collection of exotic animals. Get up to some monkey business with the endangered cotton-top tamarin monkeys or slither over to check out the Burmese Python.
