Just Singles On Location: Newcastle
This week, we’re heading to Newcastle to see what this ‘toon’ has to offer! If you’re a local you’ve probably seen it all, or so you think…
Newcastle is really close to the coast line, so why not venture out a little bit further and treat your date to a trip to the seaside! Whitley Bay is the perfect destination for a bit of British romance; bring a picnic and spend a day on the sandy beach watching the world go by or impress your date with your sea life expertise at Blue Reef aquarium. There’s plenty of bars and restaurants to choose from to liven up your trip, or plenty of good old fashioned fish and chip shops if you’re on a budget! If you don’t fancy sandy feet, treat your date to a history lesson along the Quayside. Take a long stroll along the river for a bit of scenery and stop in at one of the many upmarket bars this part of the city has to offer.
You could just take your date to dinner and drinks, the city has plenty of bars to choose from! But we think you should give them an experience they won’t forget at Sage Gateshead. A spectacular building and a fantastic venue for live music, it’s one of the city’s landmarks. With an extensive list of upcoming events on their website, you’re sure to find something that both you and your date will enjoy. No need to worry about dinner arrangements, the venue offers lots of places to eat, drink and soak up the buzzing atmosphere!
If the sun is shining and you feel like doing something completely different, take your date to Alnwick Garden and watch your romance blossom! Brave the wobbly rope bridge into the beautiful treehouse for a magical dining experience high up in the tree tops next to a roaring log fire (they even do weddings, you can thank us later!). Once you’re back on land, take a walk through the Venetian gates to the stunning Ornamental Garden and let sparks fly by the peonies.

Until next time,
