How You Know You’ve Met The One
Whether you believe in soulmates or not, most people are looking for that one person who is right for them. Deciding if you can commit to someone long term is very personal and everyone has different criteria. But, if you can tick off even a few of the following signs, there’s a good chance you may have just found the one for you.
They know what makes you happy
If they’ll go out of their way to find your favourite ice cream, they’re probably a keeper! Life has its up and downs but if someone pays attention to the little things and can always make you feel better after a bad day, it’s a very good sign.
You want the same out of life
It’s important that you’re both on same page about your future, if you’re going to be living it together. Whether you plan on buying a big house and having 5 children, or retiring and moving to Southern Spain, your relationship is much more likely to go the distance if you have similar priorities.
You deal with conflict well
All couples argue from time to time, but it’s how you deal with these situations that matters. The occasional argument can help you gain a deeper understanding of each other, which means you’re likely to come out the other side even stronger!
Your friends and family approve
This one’s simple. If the people that know you best love your partner as much as you do, then it’s a good sign that you belong together.
They love you for who you are
However weird and wonderful you are, they love you for exactly who you are, quirks and all. You feel completely comfortable with one another and never feel the need to try and impress them – you’ve done that already, just by being you!
Respect and trust
Respect and trust go hand-in-hand and are both vital in strong relationships. If you have a mutual respect for each other, there will also be a strong trust between you.
You’re the best version of you when you’re with them
When you’re with your partner you feel loved, happy and relaxed which brings out the best of you and means you’ll even end up liking yourself more when they’re around!
Chances are, if you have found “The One,” you’ll just know – gut instinct is usually right! Committing to someone can mean a huge leap of faith but if these points sound like your relationship, I’d say you owe it to yourself and your partner to give it all you’ve got!
