Date Ideas For: Workaholics

One of the most common excuses not to date is that you are just too busy. Work can get on top of all of us and it is a big part of our lives. But no matter how hectic your schedule is, you should always strive towards a balanced work and social life. Dating and working can go together, if you follow our tips and ideas on how to date if you’re a workaholic…

Date ideas for workaholics

1. Lose the baggage

Whether you arrange a quick bite to eat, or a cosy coffee during a lunch-break, leave your work where it belongs – in the office! This includes laptops, work phones, paperwork, digital organizers, pagers – you name it. If it’s work related and distracting don’t bring it along. Having these objects and devices with you, even if they’re not beeping and flashing, still keeps you in ‘work mode’. This will prevent you from being relaxed which isn’t fair on your date. How d’you expect to keep up with all their witty anecdotes and get lost in their eyes if you’re busy replying to that email?

2. Costume changes

Here’s how to channel your inner Superman and look date ready straight from the office… For the super busy – pick a date venue that matches your dress code. If the venue is as fancy as you look, or as casual – there’s no need for a change at all. If the venue is smarter than you, changing your shoes can make a lot of difference – changing how sexy you look and feel! Adding jewellery and spraying perfume/aftershave onto a plain outfit can also give the instant impression that you have made effort.

3. Liquid lunches

Whether it’s an after work date and you had to work through your lunch break, or an afternoon drink date in a bar – dating on an empty stomach is never a good idea. You’re either fighting against talking with your mouth full whilst you’re ravenously filling up on bread, or you’re a lot more on the merry side than you wanted to be. Neither of these situations are what you want for your first impression, or even a second or third. If it’s a drink date in a bar, and you know you’ll be more relaxed if you have one, or two Margaritas – then go for it. Just make sure you know your limit, you snack before, and you drink plenty of water between or after. If it’s a dinner date and you skipped a meal before – have a quick snack on the way. It is always better to be less hungry on a dinner date.

4. Pump up the jam

Sometimes after a day of work you feel tired, agitated and demotivated. No one wants to date a person with these qualities. So, how do you become that amazing person you are on weekends, the person you promised you were in your profile? As well as not taking any devices with you, and dressing sexy, here’s another tip to get you in the mood for love not logistics… Music. There’s a reason why darts players and wrestlers have a walk-on song. Grab your MP3 player and listen to motivational, pumped up music. This will wake you up and inspire you to get out there and seize the day again! The best time to crank up the volume is on your way to the date.
