Date Ideas For: The Festive Season
It’s the most wonderful time of the year. Don’t be a scumbag or a maggot – use this romantic and mystical time to have some magical dates. Santa has arrived early, and he’s brought you all the Christmas date inspiration you need…
1. I heard it through the GlΓΌhwein
Christmas markets are everywhere now, with their log cabins full of treats, their chocolate fountains and all things Bratwurst. Use this twinkly location to your advantage by strolling by arm in arm, pointing out the sites as you go. You could even set a challenge – who can find the weirdest Christmas ornament…
2. Pantomime dates are a good idea?! Oh yes they are!
Bring out your inner child by going to see a pantomime together. Grab a few drinks beforehand, then sit back and let the laughter roll in. As audience participation is a must, its a great way to really come out of your shell but with the reassurance that the whole audience is shouting “He’s behind you”, so you don’t look weird.
3. Dashing through the films
Baby, it’s cold outside. So snuggle up together and watch your favourite Christmas movies. Whether you’re all about Elf, crazy about Christmas Carol (I recommend the Muppet version) or greedy for The Grinch, nothing will get you feeling more festive.
4. Have an ice day
Cliche but fun – slide along to your local ice-rink. The outdoor ones are the best, but even indoor ones have the Christmas music to dance or stumble to. Even if you’re one of those barrier holders (you know who you are), sharing this experience with your date is romantic and hilarious.
5. I’m loving tinsel instead
Take a trip together to pick your perfect tree, or get the decorations down and get festive. Cover your home with lights, sparkle and anything colourful. The best decorations take team work, or at least someone to hold the ladder whilst you stabilize the singing Rudolph onto your roof.
Well, I wish it could be Christmas everyday. But since it isn’t, let’s make the most of this season and date. Who knows who Santa will bring you this year…
Merry Christmas,
