Date Ideas for: Music Lovers

We know what you’re thinking, this is surely a no brainer?! If you like music go to a concert, or listen to your favourite band together. Well yes, these are both good ideas. But we at JustSingles strive to be as imaginative as we can be when suggesting date ideas! So if you’re a music nerd or are dating someone that is, you’ll be singing in key if you try out our date ideas for musical minds…

Music lovers

1. It’s murder on the dance floor

Channel your inner dancing queen and get moving! Be spontaneous and head to a club or a bar together, or for the more dedicated join a dance class. After a quick Google for dance classes in your area, you’ll be jiving, tangoing or line-dancing your way to love. Learning new things together is a great way to get to know someone you’re dating, and it’s the perfect way to get closer! Not ready to show off your moves to the world? Not a problem – have a YouTube dance party for two at home. It’s a great way to reveal your music tastes to your date, especially if they’re a bit eccentric…

2. Hit the road Jack

Take your love of music on the road. Musical pilgrimages are growing in popularity. Pack up the car, or hop on a train or even walk down the road and visit the places where the music happened. Visit your favorite singer’s house, bars they sang in, record studios they recorded in etc. If you’re a Beatles fan, the logical place to visit is Liverpool, and we’re way ahead of you with date ideas for this city.

3. I’d like to teach the world to sing

Whether you’re a pro, or you sound like a strangled cat, if you go to a Karaoke bar, you won’t be alone. They are a great place to lose your inhibitions together. Opting for a romantic duet is a must – share the embarrassment! You can also tell a lot about a person by their song choice. Are they a ‘Karma Chameleon’? Or a ‘Bat out of hell’? If they are you may have some hard decisions to make about the future…

4. You get what you give

Time has sadly moved on from the days of the mix tape. If you’re old school and have access to the relics, then by all means make one for your date (making sure they have a cassette player first). But for you people scratching your heads asking, “What is this tape you speak of?!” – forget I mentioned it and simply create a playlist and email it, or burn a CD. Include songs you know they’d love, songs that say things better than you could, or a tune that reminds you of them or a memory you share.

Until next time,
