Date Ideas For: Fashion Lovers
February sees the start of this year’s Autumn/Winter Fashion Weeks, starting in chilly New York. Whether you’re a fashion lover or are dating someone who loves their clothes, shoes and accessories, there are loads of places to go. In celebration of the four major global Fashion Week’s, we bring you four fabulous fashion date ideas…
London Fashion Weekend
If you’re not fabulous enough to bag a front-row invite next to Anna Wintour this year (let’s face it – who is?!) we’ve got the solution. London Fashion Weekend is open to everyone who is lucky enough to grab one of the in-demand tickets. Held at the Saatchi Gallery each year, you’ll get to watch a catwalk show, listen to industry experts and, most importantly, do some shopping!
Couldn’t get a ticket, or live too far away? Don’t worry – the event will be covered all over social media, so you won’t have to miss a minute of the action. (Plus you can stay at home in the warm, while you and your date share a nice home-cooked meal or a cheeky takeaway!)
The V&A, London
Well known around the world for its fashion exhibits, the V&A’s Fashion collection is the largest and most comprehensive in the world. Hosting famous exhibits from ‘Alexander McQueen:Savage Beauty’ to ‘Shoes: Pleasure and Pain’, there is always something going on. The next major exhibit ‘Undressed: A Brief History of Underwear’ will run from April this year – the perfect place to go for a slightly racy fashion-themed date.
Clothes Show Live
Live a bit further up north? Clothes Show Live is held in Birmingham’s NEC every December. A fashion event like no other, the Clothes Show features an exciting catwalk show set to the latest music; celebrity guests including bloggers, reality stars and models; and a massive shopping hall of discounted brands. The perfect place to stock up on Christmas presents for your date and to see what kind of clothes they’re in to (fingers crossed you won’t be put off by any fashion faux pas)!
Go shopping
Probably the most obvious date idea on our list – take your date on a shopping spree. We’re not suggesting splashing the cash too early on in the relationship – window shopping will do just fine! You’ll get to stroll around the shops arm in arm, chatting away and getting to know each other’s tastes. Stop for a coffee or a long lunch in between to really make a day of it. It also gives you the chance to point out things you like (or find out which items they’ve been lusting over) for future gift inspiration.
So there you have it – our list of dates for fashion lovers, inspired by Fashion Week! If you try out any of our date ideas let us know on Twitter using #JustSinglesDates.
