Avoiding Awkward Silences – Part 2
Last week we suggested three great awkward-silence-saving conversation topics to steer your date in a positive direction. Today we have three more ideas that are sure to keep the conversation flowing smoothly and hopefully lock-down that second date!
The Food Of Love
If you’re on a date in a restaurant it will be almost impossible for the topic of food not to come up in conversation, but even if you’re not, asking what your date’s favourite meal is or if they like to cook is a great ice-breaker. If they like to cook, ask what their specialty meal is. If you’re feeling cheeky you could even ask them to cook it for you sometime!

Remember When…
Reminiscing about things you both remember will really help you connect with your date (or completely push you apart, in which case, maybe they’re not the one…) Try to think of things you will both remember like a Saturday morning cartoon, fashion faux pas from your youth or a funny advert from your childhood. Avoid anything personal as this may make your date feel alienated and unsure what to say.
Work, Work, Work…
Work may not be the sexiest topic going but it’s something you’ve probably got in common. Rather than moaning about your day-to-day grind, try joking about the worst job you’ve ever had and ask your date what their worst job was. Keep things up-beat and positive by talking about your dream job and plans for the future. Be sure to also ask your date about theirs too.

Until next time,
