Adele’s Best Relationship Advice
Adele is headlining Glastonbury this year and here at Just Singles HQ, we love the woman!
Whether you’re a big Adele fan or not, there’s no escaping her amazing voice and emotional song lyrics – she’s everywhere!
From helping fans propose at her concerts, to penning the biggest and best break-up tracks of the decade, Adele is not just a great voice… She’s made a name for herself as a bona fide love expert!
We take a look back at Adele’s best ever relationship moments.
The time she got her audience to peer pressure a man into marrying his girlfriend….
Yep, you read that right. At the Leap Day performance of her world tour, Adele asked the ladies in the audience if any of them had proposed, in accordance with the old Irish tradition. Enter Hayley & Neil, who became engaged after Adele rilled up the crowd enough to boo Neil until he said yes.
We’re not sure how long that relationship will last, but it’s definitely the best proposal story we’ve ever heard!
On getting over an ex…
In one of her most honest interviews ever, Adele gave us this piece of advice about moving on:
“It sounds obvious, but I think you only learn to love again when you fall in love again”
She also told us all that her new song ‘Send My Love’ was a bit of a dig at her infamous ex, to “let him know I’m over it”. We reckon we’d all quite like to let our ex’s know we’re over them via a multi-platinum album. Shame that’s one piece of advice we can’t take…
When she reportedly offered Beyonce some relationship advice…
If there’s anyone you’d like to get relationship advice from, it’s probably going to be Adele. But we’re not quite sure Beyonce felt the same way…
Adele reportedly recommended Beyonce & Jay Z stay away from social media while they went through a rough patch (read more about that here). Looks like Bey & Jay didn’t take her advice though – the pair’s Instagram accounts are still overflowing with snaps of each other.
We know from experience (and from watching Jeremy Kyle) that Facebook and other social accounts can be to blame for quite a lot of relationship problems. Only time will tell if the power couple should have taken Adele’s advice.
On choosing your friends wisely…
Even if you’re single, Adele’s still got some advice for you. It’s not just romantic relationships Adele is great at – she’s also got some advice for choosing your mates.
“I have insecurities of course, but I don’t hang out with anyone who points them out to me…”
Yes, Adele! Don’t ever hang out with people who put you down… Because you’re worth it 😉
And finally, when she told us all what we’d been waiting to hear…
“Sadness can be quite uplifting and joyful… Sometimes you have to allow yourself to be sad in order to move forwards.”
So there you have it – official permission, from queen of the relationship advice Adele, to wallow in tears and ice cream after a break-up… Just as long as you pick yourself up at the end!
Now you’ve been enlightened by Adele’s relationship wizardry, you’ll probably want to pop off and listen to a few of her songs. But don’t stop there! Take Adele’s best piece of advice and move on if you’ve been single for a while. There’s no better place than Just Singles, and we’re here to support you the whole way. You’ll be saying ‘Hello’ to your new relationship in no time!
Until next time,
